Clicking on clear button in the Search panel doesn't cancel the current search

STR:

  1. Open the Search panel and start search
  2. While the search is in-progress, click on the clear button within the search input box (see the one highlighted at the attached screenshot)
  3. The content of the search input is cleared, but the search continues.

Expected result:
The current search is cancelled and the search result output is also empty (like the search input box).

Attaching a prototype showing the way to fix this bug.

Needs testing and a mochitest.

Clearing cancels the search and clears the results. Status bar is picking up the change as well.
